Learn more about Action @ Work →Internal clients come to L&D requesting training - L&D designs and delivers the training. This cycle is often called being an "order taker". But why is it unhealthy?
We assume clients have identified the problem
Internal clients often request training without fully understanding or defining the real, measurable issue they need to address.
We assume training is the correct solution
Traditionally, training has been thrown in the mix, even when the problem lay elsewhere, wasting everyone’s time.
We decrease our potential for impact
By simply fulfilling training requests, we miss the opportunity to shape strategic solutions that could drive deeper, long-term impact.
Not all experiences are for everyone. Your previous background and current context are extremely important for the success of your learning adventure, so make sure you're ready for it.

Gavin Heryng
Gavin has worked in Learning and Development for over 15 years, and in that time, he has designed and delivered some truly terrible training: boring PowerPoint presentations and soul-sucking eLearning courses. But through these painful experiences, he discovered that success comes from identifying the gap between current and desired performance, and then providing the necessary skills, knowledge, and behaviors to bridge it. Action Mapping was the pivot point that helped Gavin align his work with business goals by focusing on real-world performance needs rather than unnecessary content.
When not preaching the powers of performance-focused solutions, Gavin can be found traveling the world, or binge-watching American tv shows with his partner, Corinne.
This is a one-time only masterclass, happening in an intimate setting, and exploring proven frameworks and practices.
